Run VDC Offline Assistant as described above.
In the Welcome screen click Next.
Click Download.
If you download new setup information without uploading locally collected data the data will be overwritten.
The Download button will be disabled if data has been collected locally and Check this box to enable download anyway must be enabled to allow a download to be performed.
Select the station configuration to be downloaded locally.
Click Next.
The variable setups assigned to the selected station are listed. Expand the setups to see the products and processes assigned to them.
Enable the setups to be downloaded locally.
Enable Update local Inspect configuration. to download configuration data (such as shifts, users and images for those users).
The configuration data doesn’t change very often so downloading it is optional. For example, imagine that there are 300 Inspect users in the central database and that all of them have a user image. That would mean that every time a user downloads a VDC setup, all 300 user images are downloaded as well. But since they likely don’t change very often, this would be a waste of network resources and time.
Inspect configuration data will be downloaded automatically the first time VDC Offline Assistant is run.
Click Next.
The data is downloaded and the Finish screen opens.
If the schema versions of the central and local databases don’t match, an error will be shown and the download will not be performed.
If there are errors during download try again and enable Update local Inspect configuration. It’s possible that something in the central Inspect system has changed and caused the download of setups to fail.
If required, enable Start Over if there are any setups you missed.
Click Finish.
VDC can now be run without a network connection.
